A legendary figure. One of my favorite songwriters.

Mine too. Unlike so many musicians he never stopped writing great songs. The songs he recorded in the last couple years were just as good as the 40-year old songs he was famous for. Getting played a lot today. Just heard Lake Marie, one of my favorites.

As you say it is more of the same. Other artists have lost their lives to Covid and other have no work, no money and are leaving the performing arts .

His death hit me hard. I took a moment to remember him today, as well.

Yes, he and Prince both died in April, different years, I think. Both very sad losses.

I saw him on tv just Sunday! He made an appearance on the Marty Stuart show back in the 60’s I think. It was a wonderful performance.

I haven’t been able to listen to John Prine since the day he died, when I listened and listened, and cried and cried. Maybe I’ll get brave and try again. Thank you for sharing this.

For some reason, I’ve been listening to his cover of “I Just Called to Say I Love You”, the Stevie Wonder song. It’s so sweet and tender, but I have to admit it’s sad to hear his voice.

He was a treasure and it hurts knowing he left so soon. So much heart and humanity in his music, something we desperately need.

I loved John Prine, too. I didn’t know he died of Covid. Let’s all get vaccinated. I got my second one, yay!

I think they were complications of Covid. I have my shots now too. I’m not changing the way I live yet, but the shots make me feel less vulnerable. Yes, let’s all get vaccinated.
